The competition was open to students of Forms VI in Mauritius and Rodrigues. They were required to write an essay writing on "Ethics- based on the Four Way Test"
The winners were:
First Prize: Sandy Mariaye, Loreto College, Quatre Bornes,
Second Prize: Nejran ALLYBOKUS, Notre Dames College
Third Prize: Neville RAMCHURRUN, Universal College.

The Club has a long association with the Edith Cowan University, Perth, Western Australia. Trainees from the ECU held a reading project for children in a three schools and donated books to the schools.
Interview Skills

One of the regular projects of the Club, in association with the University of Mauritius. It aims at helping young university graduates to develop interview skills. This project got the support of the Pro-Vice Chancellor, Professor Ameena Fakim-Gurib and was at its 5th edition in 2007. The speakers were Mrs Su Lin Onsiong, DCDM, Mrs Ramlackhan, Rogers Group, Mr Raj Maudho, Senior Chief Executive, Prime Minister's Office.
Reading project to Celebrate the World book Day.

Rotary Club of Vacoas associated with the trainees of the Mauritius Institute of Education to hold a whole day reading project to celebrate the World Book day at Score Jumbo, Phoenix. It was attended by about 300 children. Read full story on http://www.mieonline.org

The Club provided the reading materials for a reading project started by the Mauritius Institute of Education at the Pandit Sahadeo Government school. This is a continuation of the project of the Edith Cowan University and the reading materials have been partly donated by the ECU, Western Australia.
