Rotary International Centennial Postage Stamp Proposed to Congress

"Rotary was founded 100 years ago in Chicago, and now its influence can be felt not only in the United States, but also around the globe," said Jonathan Majiyagbe, President of Rotary International. "It is fitting that the organization is honored in this way."
There are 1,200,000 Rotary club members who belong to more than 31,000 Rotary clubs located in 166 countries. In the United States alone, there are nearly 400,000 members.
Rotary provides educational opportunities and works toward building greater global understanding, goodwill and peace.
In 1985, Rotary International created PolioPlus - a program to immunize all the world's children against polio by Rotary's centennial ? 2005. To date, the PolioPlus program has committed more than US$500 million and countless volunteer hours to the protection of more than two billion children in 122 countries.
