Dr The Hon Abu Twalib KASENALLY, Minister of Public Utilities and Hon Dr. Rihun Hawaldar also attended the function and addressed the students on the need to be literate in a world faced with increasing competition.

 

The High Commissione of  Australia, Mr.  Ian McConville also Honourary Member of the Rotary Club of Vacoas and the Chairmen of the Vocational Service, Past President Om Varma, both expressed their appreciation for the link that the Mauritius Institute of Education has established with the Edith Cowan University, a link going on for seven years now, which made this book donation possible. 


The donation was held at the N. Saddul Government School, Jackson Road, Vacoas. the Club received enormous support for the school, and would wish to put on record the contribution of Mr. S. Mothoosamy, the Head Teacher and Mr. Mastan, the President of the Parent Teachers' Association and those anonymous teachers who spent a lot of time and energy to make the occasion a success.

 

Thirteen primary schools and two pre-primary schools, one secondary school, as well as the Satya Sai baba Organisation which is organising a competition for schools, benefited for the donation. The schools were as follows
